This isn`t my first forway into using smart wifi devices. It is my first Mi device though. This is disappointing at best. It gets my work done however not the way i`d expected. The biggest problem is that the hardware suffers from a firmware bug where any id assigned under 32 bit characters will cause the device to timeout when connecting to wifi. The work around (as i discovered) was to register the device in China only. This way, you get the Mi id less than 45xxxxxxxxxx . Anyone else using this bulb is essentially screwed or even those who have other working Mi smart wifi products. This and the Yeelight bulb seem to be the only devices with this problem. Mi should have resolved this problem by now since its a firmware issue but they havent. After getting it to work, i am still not thrilled because i cannot manage the state of the device. In a country with frequent power outages i cannot tell it to retain its power state from before. I can also not set the scene to sunrise and sunset, since the device is registered in mainland China, i only get cities from China!

Using it as normal bulb, tried so many times to connect with MiHome app, but did not worked at all. Disappointed to pay so much for normal use led bulb...
